FREE Adult Basic Education and GED preparation program is being offered through Community Education to area residents.
Fall classes will begin Wednesday, September 17. Classes are held at the West Central Area High School in Barrett, Room 203, on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
These classes will offer assistance in preparation for the Tests of General Educational Development (GED Tests) as well as with basic reading; writing; spelling; math; and everyday living skills such as completing forms; balancing a checkbook; passing the written driver’s license test; etc. Anyone who is thinking about getting a GED diploma should contact the program for assistance. Preparation for ACCUPLACER tests is also available.
Anyone aged 16 or over who has basic educational needs and is not presently enrolled in a high school is welcome to attend these classes. The program is informal and allows students to set their own goals and work at their own pace toward these goals in a friendly atmosphere. Students can begin at any time during the year and drop when their goals have been completed. Similar classes will also be offered in other surrounding communities.
